Student Life and Leadership Development
Go Ahead — Live a Little
2012-13 Student Handbook (PDF)
Have
you picked up a copy of our new and incredibly useful Student Handbook? Pick one up at any campus/center Student Life and Leadership Development office.
Our office provides you with a place to relax, meet new people and study with friends. You’ll also find comfortable furniture, billiards, group study areas, meeting rooms, as well as useful information on student health insurance, bus schedules and more.
We're also your starting point for getting involved on campus through student government, events, clubs and organizations! And for those with special talents, opportunities exist in drama, Brain Bowl, intramural and recreational tournaments, mathematics, music, photography and student leadership, as well as a number of intercollegiate athl
etic teams.
We bring a wide range of entertainment to the campuses. From singers, dancers and comedians, to lectures, discussions or art exhibits, a long list of performers appear on the Florida State College stage or other venues. Attending an event might even help your studies — many of these opportunities have direct connections with your courses.

Student Newspaper — The Campus Voice
The Campus Voice, the Florida State College student newspaper, focuses on issues and events which involve students at the college. It is printed twice a month during the fall and spring terms. Students may serve as writers, editors, photographers and graphic designers. No experience is necessary, and scholarships are available.
Arts Magazine — The Experience
Florida State College’s student literary/art magazine is published once a year and contains original works of our students. Short stories, poetry, short plays and short fiction or non-fiction works are considered for publication beginning each January. Winners of the collegewide student photography competition and collegewide student art annual may also submit their work. Interested in being more involved in producing the magazine? Volunteer to serve on the editorial board! To submit work or find out more about serving on the board, contact Professor Jana Kinder at (904) 381-3508 or theexperience@fscj.edu. You can also visit the Experience Web site. Copies of the Experience are available in any Student Life and Leadership Development office.
Multilingual Journal — ENVOY
The ENVOY student journal accepts submissions from current and graduated students of the EAP (English for Academic Purposes) and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) programs. Students are invited to send original poetry, short essays and art. Poetry may be written in the students’ native language or English. Students must follow submission guidelines. For guidelines and more information, contact Ann White, (904) 357-8965, Downtown Campus, room 2100C.

Contact Dr. Laura Jeffries at the South Campus for more information or visit the Web site.
