Honors Program
Scholarships
Honors Academy Scholars Award ($1,000-$2,000 based on credit hours enrolled)Students registered for 6-11 hours will be offered $1,000/year; students registered for 12 or more credit hours will be offered $2,000/year. The criteria for this award are as follows:
- Recipient is required to take IDH 2920 and IDH 2001 the first semester upon receiving the award. Scheduling conflicts will be managed on a case by case basis through the Honors Academy Office and with the expressed permission of the Associate Vice President of Liberal Arts.
- Recipient must earn at least 6 hours of honors coursework per semester (for full-time students) and at least 3 hours per semester (for part-time students). Honors coursework can be completed through contracts or through registering in an honors designated course. IDH courses do not count toward this total.
- Recipient is required to have completed 12 hours of college credit courses having earned a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average or to be a recent high school graduate having earned a 3.5 weighted grade point average and the recommendation of a high school counselor.
- Recipient must have completed no more than 40 hours toward the associate's degree.
- Recipient must have completed all required college preparatory studies classes prior to receiving the scholarship.
- Scholarship is renewable for subsequent fall and spring semesters as long as the student maintains a 3.5 cumulative g.p.a. Students who drop below a 3.5 but maintain a 3.3 will be given probationary status for one semester.
