Meet Your New Mascot!

Huge news! We are excited to announce FSCJ's new official mascot is the Manta Ray.

Following extensive research, design and two public voting phases, we are beginning to incorporate the Manta Ray across FSCJ, FSCJ Athletics and the full College community. Merchandise is being ordered and will be available for purchase through campus bookstores and online soon.

Here's how the Manta Ray came out on top:

  • In October 2023, FSCJ invited the public to vote on their favorite mascots from a list of 25.
  • Close to 9,000 votes and 864 write-in names were received.
  • The list was narrowed down to the top three: Kraken, Manta Ray and Sea Dragon.
  • The public voting window to select the winner was open between January 17 and February 23, 2024, garnering nearly 20,000 votes.
  • The official mascot was announced during the 2024 Commencement Ceremony on May 9.

We appreciate your participation and look forward to seeing how the Manta Ray comes to life!

Uniforms for the College’s athletics teams are in development for the 2024-25 season. A mascot costume is also in the works and a name will be discussed soon.
