Mr. Bruce E. Barcelo (Vice Chair, Duval County)
Mr. Barcelo is a Principal of Barcelo & Company, an international public opinion research firm. He is a founder of the Committee for Open Democracy, an international election-monitoring and governmental transparency project. In addition to his work throughout the United States, his growing international practice includes opinion research and political coalition development in Eastern Europe, Eurasia and the Caribbean. He is active in civic affairs, serving as a long-time director of the Florida and Jacksonville Chambers of Commerce and a Trustee of Leadership Florida. A Jacksonville native, Mr. Barcelo received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. He was appointed to the Florida State College at Jacksonville Board of Trustees in July 2009. |

Ms. Karen E. Bowling
Karen E. Bowling was appointed to the Florida State College at Jacksonville District Board of Trustees by Governor Scott in August 2011. Ms. Bowling has served on the Board of the Florida State College at Jacksonville Foundation, and is the Board of Trustees liaison to the Foundation Board. She is currently the deputy chief administrative officer for Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown. Prior to joining the Mayor's staff, Ms. Bowling cofounded and served as the CEO of Solantic walk-in urgent care. She is a proud alumna of Florida State College at Jacksonville (then Florida Junior College) and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of North Florida. She began her career in Jacksonville as a broadcast journalist before transitioning to a career in health care marketing and management. Ms. Bowling has served on the Board of Directors of the Jacksonville Electric Authority, Associated Industries of Florida, Jacksonville Humane Society and First Coast Crimestoppers. |

Mr. Thomas A. "Tom" Bryan
Trustee Tom Bryan was appointed to the Board of Trustees in December 2012 and represents Duval County. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, Jacksonville, Florida and earned a degree in business from Jacksonville University. He is a member of the Leadership Jacksonville class of 1996. He served as Chairman of the Yates YMCA, was the first Foundation Chairman of Episcopal Children's Services and served as Junior Warden at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Mr. Bryan is Vice President of Terra Capital Holdings, Inc. and is a lifetime resident of Jacksonville. |

Ms. Candace T. “Candy” Holloway (Vice Chair, Nassau County)
Mrs. Holloway currently serves as vice chair for Nassau County. She was appointed to the Florida State College at Jacksonville District Board of Trustees by Governor Scott in August 2011. Mrs. Holloway represents Nassau County on the Board. She is the director of medical education for the American Lung Association of the Southeast, Inc. and director of its medical section, the Southeast Thoracic Association. A long-time employee in the field of health education, she is a recipient of the American Lung Association and Florida Thoracic Society Award for Excellence in Educational Programs. Mrs. Holloway actively serves on coalitions and committees representing the American Lung Association working with colleagues and volunteers at the state, regional and national levels. Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mrs. Holloway studied computer science at North Florida Junior College. She is also active in church, civic and political activities. |

Mr. Thomas R. McGehee, Jr.
Thomas R. "Mac" McGehee, Jr. served as chair of the District Board of Trustees in 2008-2010. In 2007-2008, he served as vice-chair of the Board for Duval County. Mr. McGehee was originally appointed to the Board by Governor Bush in 1999, and reappointed by Governor Crist in July 2007 and by Governor Scott in August 2011. He is executive vice president of Mac Papers, Inc., a family-owned paper distribution company. He received his B.A. degree in Business Management from the University of Florida. Previously he served as chair of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee and president of the Navy League of Jacksonville. |

Ms. Suanne Z. Thamm
Ms. Thamm served as the College's Board Chair from 2003-05 and was the Board's vice chair for Nassau County for six previous terms. On scholarship to Syracuse University she earned an A.B. degree in Soviet/East European Area Studies with a minor in the Russian language; she later attended Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Before retiring, Ms. Thamm worked for the Library of Congress for 25 years in various capacities, including research, public service, collections management, and technical processing. She currently serves on the Historic District Council for the City of Fernandina Beach. |

Ms. Gwendolyn C. “Gwen” Yates (Chair)
Gwendolyn "Gwen" Yates currently serves as Board chair and was most recently vice chair for Duval County. She was appointed to the Board by Governor Crist in 2007. She has made a lifelong career of public service as a City of Jacksonville employee since 1974. She was founder and director until 1980 of what is now the Youth Crisis Center. She subsequently served in high-level management positions including division chief and interim director (by appointment) under three Jacksonville mayors. Trustee Yates served as president of the Board of Trustees of the Florida Council on Aging. She was elected to the Jacksonville City Council in 1999 and reelected in 2003. Her term expired June 30, 2007. As City Council member she chaired various committees including Public Health and Safety and Education; served as Finance chair for the Tourist and Development Council; and was vice chair of both the Rules and the Recreation Community Development and Education committees. She presently serves as vice chair of the City's Public Service Grants Council and is a member of the Jacksonville Symphony Association Board. Trustee Yates is a graduate of Edward Waters College and completed the University of North Florida Government Fellows Program and Jacksonville University's Management Development Certificate Program. |
